The Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) has officially announced the winners of the Academic Team Champion award, and Olympic Heights has achieved a historic sweep. Both the boys and girls varsity tennis teams have captured the #1 spot in the state for Class 7A, earning the prestigious title of Academic Team Champions.
The girls’ tennis team led the state with a spectacular 3.964 cumulative GPA, while the boys’ tennis team secured their top ranking with an equally stellar 3.944 cumulative GPA.
The FHSAA Academic Team Champion recognition program honors teamwork not only in athletic competition, but in the classroom as well. The program recognizes teams in each of the Association’s sanctioned and recognized sports, naming an Academic Team Champion in each classification based strictly on the team’s collective grade point average.
